Barça Set to Play Historic Game at Partially Completed Camp Nou over the weekend
Barcelona have announced they are set to host at the partially upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend. They will welcome Athletic Bilbao in La Liga 30 months since relocating so building work could begin.
“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Not all seats will be available with 45,401 fans can be present under the licence granted. When completed, the Camp Nou is due to hold over 104,000 attendees, a rise from the old capacity. The club said completed upgrades featured a renovated tunnel for players plus modern locker rooms.
Preparatory Events
Barcelona held an open training session at the Camp Nou on 7 November. They mentioned they were hoping for permission from European football’s governing body to host the next European match against Eintracht Frankfurt in December in the renovated venue. Previous fixtures took place at the Olympic Stadium.
