Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Nigeria Following Fatal Car Crash

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, officials in Lagos stated on Wednesday evening. The 36-year-old was involved in a car accident near Lagos on Monday, a horrific crash that took the lives of two of his valued colleagues.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

The boxer had remained in the hospital while healing from his light wounds, his management team had said on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on social media that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to continue his recovery at home.

“Joshua and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two departed friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” Omotosho said.

A Tribute to the Fallen

The victims of the crash were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. It was also noted that the athlete was heartbroken and overcome with emotion over the passing of his two close friends.”

His release from the hospital arrives after the sports world offered sympathy for the champion in the wake of the heartbreaking incident.
